Lamphun is one of Thailand's oldest continuously occupied cities, with a founding that dates back at least to the seventh century. However, it remains a relatively small town compared to its bigger, newer neighbor Chiang Mai. Although only about 30 minutes away by car from the northern capital, Lamphun doesn't get that many tourists, even thought there are some interesting things to see here.
