Frankfurt International Airport: A world of experience - more gigantic than the largest museum, more thrilling than the most suspenseful action film, and more impressive than your boldest dreams. Frankfurt Airport is one of the world...

This precocious teenager flexes its muscle at the big city boys like London and New York. European Central Bank and German Stock Exchange safely in hand, Frankfurt has every right to do so. Over 300,000 commuters swell the dense, skyscraper-studded financial district each day. Europe's second largest airport and a good dollop of corporate glitz help to massage its larger-than-life ego. However, the city sprawling around the River Main is surprisingly small. With just 650,000 residents, Frankfurt arguably is the world's premiere micro-metropolis. Dubbed "Mainhattan", this ambitious wild-child is not without cultural grace, though. The collection of opera houses, theaters and museums is practically unrivalled. Indeed, the soul of pre-globalization Frankfurt is never far away. Lovingly restored pockets of Renaissance romance pay tribute to a colorful history spanning well over 1,000 years.
