Cardiff is the capital city in Wales and also the largest city in the region. It is also the starting point for most tourists to Wales. Quirky and interesting facts about Cardiff include its self proclaimes status as one of the flattest cities in Britain offering more hours of sunlight than Milan. Cardiff is also the world's first Fair Trade Capital, encouraging ethical trade with small producers in developing countries. With a number of natural attractions that appeal to the active traveler, the city also offers plenty of museums, castles, monuments, cultural events and a relatively new emphasis on great cuisine and lots of high end shopping options to keep first time and repeat visitors happily occupied.
